Vero police, Sheriff, DEA arrest 3 in drug investigation

VERO BEACH — Three men were arrested early Friday morning after the Vero Beach Police Department, the Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, and DEA agents searched their apartments at the end of a month-long investigation.

Authorities arrested the suspects on drug charges.

Those arrested include Valdono Vorvilias, 25, Richard McCrady, 28, and Leon McCloud Jr., 31, all of 738 18th Street, Vero Beach.

The search warrants were issued at the culmination of a month long investigation involving drug sales, illegal gun possession and possible gang activity, the Vero Beach Police Department said in a prepared release.

Items seized from the apartments included one pistol grip pump action Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun, one Rossi .38 special handgun, approximately 100 grams of marijuana, numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia, 1 1/2 grams of Methalone, and $4800.

Vorvilias and McCrady face charges of possessing less than 20 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession. McLoud Jr. faces charges of marijuana possession with intent to distribute and Methalone possession, according to the Vero Beach Police Department.
