“Painting in Transparent Watercolor” in Joel Johnson workshop

VERO BEACH — This workshop will explore the methods, materials, and paintings techniques used in transparent watercolor painting. Pigments and their properties including staining, non-staining, sediment, and opaque will be discussed and demonstrated.

Painting techniques such as wet into wet, mingling of colors, and glazing will be covered. Design concepts including values, color temperature, complimentary color strategies, and design will also be emphasized.

The instructor will provide a supply list of materials along with visual subject matter to be painted. Students are encouraged to bring in their own paintings during the workshop for individual help and critiques.

Any level of painting experience will be welcome. Examples of Mr. Johnson’s work can be viewed at the Darby Fine Art website at www.DarbyFineArt.com.

Mr. Johnson’s original work is on display at Darby Fine Art, 1902 14th Ave. in Vero Beach.
