First Presbyterian Church offers free senior health seminars

VERO BEACH — First Presbyterian Church and various members of the Vero Beach medical community are partnering to create a series of health and wellness seminars during January and February.

The seminars will provide both seniors and family caregivers with useful information about common health conditions such as: cancer, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, dementia, stroke, heart disease, and Diabetes.

The seminars will be held at First Presbyterian Church, which is located at 520 Royal Palm Blvd. in Vero Beach, and are free of charge and open to the public.

Light refreshments will be provided.

· Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Dementia – Jan. 24 from 10–11 a.m.

  Speaker: Peggy Cunningham, Executive Director, Alzheimer & Parkinson Association

· Stroke – Jan. 31 from 10–11 a.m.

  Speaker: Dr. Michelle Ofner, Neurologist

· Heart Diseases – Feb. 7 from 11 a.m. – Noon

  Speakers: Dr. Arley Peter, Cardiologist & Denise Clark, RN, VNA Telehealth Coordinator

· Diabetes – Feb. 14 from 10–11 a.m.

  Betsy Root, RD, LD, CDE, Nutritionist
