VERO BEACH — Recent events in our world and in our country have led us back to the realization that our mental health is as important as our physical health.
The Center for Spiritual Care, located at 1550 24th Ave. in Vero Beach, a non-profit center that serves people of all genders, races, and religions, is offering three courses in January that could be helpful and inspiring.
Let us add personal growth and a happy well-being to our goals for the new year.
The Center’s programs for January are listed below.
WHAT: Learning about the Tao Te Ching
WHEN: Jan. 17 & 24 from 7-8:30 p.m.
An ancient philosophy from 2500 years ago, the Tao Te Ching has been applied to everything from modern physics to Winnie the Pooh. It is not a belief system or a religion, but rather it is a way of thinking about life and the universe that is both practical and mind expanding.
The Tao can be thought of as natural law that can be applied to relationships, psychology, physics, nature, and politics. These two sessions are an introduction to the philosophy and the application of the Tao.
The group will compare different translations of the Tao, learn a simple meditation technique that helps one to experience the Tao, and examine ways that the Tao can be applied to everyday life.
Facilitator: Allan Teger, Ph.D.
COST: $20 for both sessions
Please call the Center at (772) 567-1233 for more information or to make reservations.
