Frank Joseph Higgins III, 63, died Oct. 2, 2012, at the VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
He was born in Oyster Bay, N.Y., and split his time between Vero Beach and Oyster Bay for the past 22 years.
He received the Purple Heart for his military service in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his son, Christian Shaw Higgins of Sarasota; daughter, Erin Brooks Higgins of Manhattan, N.Y.; brothers, Billy Higgins of Oyster Bay and Bobby Higgins of San Francisco; and sister, Cindy Higgins of Bayville, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Valerie Simkins-Higgins in 2009.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
A wake will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 2 at DeVine Funeral Home, Oyster Bay.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Nov. 3 at St. Gertrudes Church, Bayville.
