With all the national focus of the media on the anti-women agenda of Todd Akin and Paul Ryan, it is important to also remember that we have our own problem right here in Indian River County.
Bill “Birther” Posey, who is seeking re-election, was one of the co-sponsors of H. R. 3 in which the distinction of “forcible” rape first reared its ugly head.
Bill “Birther” Posey also voted for this absurd piece of legislation. It should be abundantly clear to every citizen by now that the Republicans are indeed engaged in a war on women.
It is now obvious that we need more women in Congress. Luckily, we have a strong challenger to Bill “Birther” Posey.
Thus, I urge everyone to vote for Shannon Roberts, an educated and experienced woman who can repair the mess that Bill “Birther” Posey and his ideologues have made.
Women will not go backward. So stand up and fight, Send Shannon Roberts to Congress to fight on your behalf.
