George W. Sigmund, 89, died July 28, 2012, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
He was born in Irvington, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach for 28 years, coming from Point Pleasant, N.J.
He was a teacher at the Essex County Vocational School, N.J., for 25 years until his retirement in 1984.
He was a veteran of the Marine Corps during World War II.
He was a member of the American Legion in Point Pleasant.
Survivors include his companion, Helen Sponsler of Vero Beach.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Sigmund.
