The Source receives grant for shower repairs

VERO BEACH — The Source provides the only shower program for Indian River County residents who are experiencing homelessness.

A shower increases the chances of employment, reduces the risk of health problems, and improves the way a person feels about themselves.

After six years and thousands of showers, the facilities are in urgent need of repair. Thanks to grants from Grand Harbor Community Outreach and St. Augustine Episcopal Church, these programs will be completed this summer.

The only shower program in the county will continue without interruption.

The Source is a Christian outreach ministry for homeless individuals and families at-risk.

The doors of The Source open six days a week to provide people in need with nourishment for the body and soul.

The ministry offers daily hot meals, an emergency food pantry, clothing, showers, counseling, support groups and a host of other services.

We are located at 1015 Commerce Ave. in Vero Beach.
