VERO BEACH — On March 10, The Waxlax Center for the Performing Arts at Saint Edward’s School in Vero Beach was the venue for the 4th annual Dancing with Vero’s Stars fundraiser.
A wrap up party for all star dancers, instructors, and event committee members was held at the home of Judy and Bob Van Saun on April 30.
At that event, a new trophy for top fundraising was introduced to the over sixty people in attendance.
Dr. Glenn Tremml, Emergency Department Physician at IRMC, dancing the Quickstep with partner Karren Walter, won Second Runner-Up.
Dr. Tremml also attained the status of Top Fundraiser, raising nearly $52,000 in donations and sponsorships.
For his superior philanthropic performance, leadership, and commitment to excellence, Brenda Lloyd, the 2012 “Dance” Co-Chair, presented the Star Top Fundraising Trophy to Dr. Tremml.
With his name inscribed on the trophy, Dr. Tremml will have ownership of it until such time it travels to a future dance competitor who surpasses his dollar amount raised.
The Healthy Start Coalition is an Indian River County non-profit that provides pregnancy and postpartum services that support a healthier future for moms, babies, and the whole family.
Proceeds from Dancing with Vero’s Stars, which totaled $210,000, will benefit and expand their programs and services.
