Free CPR and AED (Advanced Electronic Defibrillator) training offered by TCCH on April 28

VERO BEACH — Free public safety demonstration: TCCH to host Red Cross and Indian River County emergency vehicles and public safety demonstrations.

Open house: TCCH will open 11,000 sq. ft. Oslo Road clinic for tours.

April 28… tours and emergency equipment on-site 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

CPR/AED – Classes are available throughout the day. Reservations are required. Interested persons should call (772) 571-1983.

Event Details

Free CPR and AED Training: Participants will learn how to recognize the symptoms of an SCA, stroke, heart attack, and how to do layperson CPR (for adults, children, and infants), Heimlich maneuver (choking), hands only cpr, compression only cpr, and rescue breathing.

In addition, in all classes, learn how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Free without certification card, or $20 with.

There will be live demonstrations by the American Red Cross and the Indian River County Fire Department, including pet resuscitation. 

Hurricane preparedness information will be available.

The “We Care to Wear Pink” organization will have their pink fire truck onsite. This very active group has banded together to raise money for  women’s health issues, particularly breast cancer.

Emergency vehicles on-site will include: Fire trucks, Ambulance, Sheriff’s Department Demonstration Subaru, and Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicles.

McGruff the Crime Dog will also be there between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. Enrollment in the kid identification program will take place from 11 a.m. –  1 p.m.
