Come to The Emerson Center to see Lauren Chapin (Father Knows Best) on April 29

VERO BEACH — Lauren Chapin, as a little girl, made a lasting impression on millions of TV viewers. She is still remembered as “Kathy ‘Kitten’ Anderson” from the classic “Father Knows Best” series, which ran on syndicated television for nine years and awarded her five Jr. Emmys for Best Child Actress.

Miss Chapin, who has had a long-time dream to produce her own show, has finally made the big jump, and is ready to launch the premier showing of ““Forever Kitten”” to the Vero Beach audience.

The public is invited to share the experience with Ms. Chapin as she transforms the Emerson Center stage into a comfortable and cozy sitting room while she exchanges stories, questions and answers, as well as a 25 minute film evoking memories of the past.

If it’s nostalgia the audience is looking for, they will discover it through Miss Chapin’’s upbeat personality and humor as she delves back into television history and remembers her television family, including the late Robert Young and Jane Wyatt, along with Elinor Donahue and Billy Gray.

Lauren Chapin, now a resident of Vero Beach, is a published author. Her first book entitled “Father Does Know Best, The Lauren Chapin Story,” was written in the late 1980s. Currently she is writing her  follow-up book entitled “Pass the Past.”

Her work lately has brought her back into the public light on such shows as Regis and Kathy Lee Show, The Today Show, Entertainment Tonight, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and The Late, Late Night Show.  She hosted a seven hour marathon on The Family Channel for Father’s Day with the stars of Father Knows Best.

Her most recent public appearance in Vero Beach was in March when she was one of the three celebrity judges for the 4th annual Dancing with Vero’’s Stars and the Homeless Family Center’’s Spring Luncheon at Bent Pine on April 11.

This event will be held on April 29 at 5 p.m. Tickets for “”Forever Kitten”” are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
