VERO BEACH — February 29 is a special day, and the Indian River County Historical Society wants to help you celebrate in a special way – with free admission to the Hallstrom House from 1-4 p.m.
The Hallstrom House is a historic house museum and archives operated by the Indian River County Historical Society. The home was built between 1917 and 1921 by Axel Hallstrom, a horticulturalist from Sweden who became a pioneer citrus grower in Vero Beach.
His daughter, Ruth, left the house and its contents to the Historical Society in 2000, to be maintained as a living historical legacy for the residents of and visitors to Indian River County.
The house is staffed from Tuesdays through Fridays from 1-4 p.m. with volunteer docents who are looking forward to providing a special Leap Day tour for visitors on February 29.
