CAMERA: A backup camera for the backup

Recently I was asked, “How many cameras do you carry?”

I smiled and said three and watched as their eyes got wider. Just like a reporter carries extra pens, I carry extra cameras.

If you’ve never had a camera die on you, count yourself lucky. I know I’ll sound older than I am when I type this but it’s true, they don’t make them like they used to.

During the science fair my Canon 7D (not that the make matters) started to act up.

Because of the importance of getting “the shot” I have a small consumer point-and-shoot on my belt just in case my secondary bites the dust, too.

Now, if that one dies , after contemplating going back to bed, I still have the cell phone camera. But, like I learned in Boy Scouts, be prepared.
