Julie Andrews daughter Emma Hamilton to speak at Starfest luncheon Jan. 30

VERO BEACH — Childcare Resources of Indian River welcomes best-selling children’s author, Emma Walton Hamilton, daughter of Julie Andrews, to its Starfest! luncheon at Quail Valley River Club, Monday, Jan. 30 at 11:30 a.m.

The afternoon includes a champagne reception, seated luncheon and Hamilton’s message, titled Unleashing the Inner Sparkle: Using Reading, Writing and the Arts to Celebrate Every Child’s Unique Voice.

Starfest! is being chaired by Judy Munn and Karla Spooner. The committee has chosen Starfest! to represent our greatest stars, our children, and Emma Walton Hamilton, a bright star in her own right. Hamilton’s books will be available for purchase.

Emma has co-authored 20 books with her mother, including The Very Fairy Princess, as well as her own book Raising Bookworms: Getting Kids Reading for Pleasure and Empowerment. Event co-chairmen are Judy Munn and Karla Spooner.

The cost to attend is $125 per person. Proceeds from the event will help the organization provide affordable, quality childcare for working families.
