William Joseph Scholz, 84, died Jan. 1, 2012, at the VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
He was born in Perth Amboy, N.J., and moved to Vero Beach in 1985 from Pembroke Pines.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy.
He had been a service manager for Ryder Truck Co. in Miami prior to his retirement.
He was a member of the VFW in Vero Beach.
Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Luciano, of Vero Beach; son, Robert Scholz, of Sarasota; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Marie Scholz; and a daughter, Connie Worthington.
