SEBASTIAN — By the River residents are getting in the holiday mood with a Holiday Craft Fair and Yard Sale open to the public at By the River, 11065 Ganga Way (off of Roseland Road in Sebastian) on Friday Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
For sale will be resident Nick’s weaving, Yvonne’s crocheted baby outfits, and holiday crafts and wreaths made by the residents in their arts and crafts classes. Some residents will also be offering furniture and items they no longer need.
“In these times when seniors sometimes have to choose between medications and food, this event, organized by residents themselves, shows the sense of independence and community spirit present at By the River,” said activities director Judy Molliconi. “We hope people come out to support the event and leave with some great, hand-made Christmas gifts.”
By the River is the area’s nonprofit, independent living community for 41 low-income seniors, founded by spiritual teacher Ma Jaya, that giving is giving them the chance to live affordably in a life-enhancing community.
