Literacy Services issues reading challenge to parents

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Literacy Services Of Indian River County, Inc. and Oculina Bank proudly present a challenge to all Indian River County residents who are parents or caregivers to read to your child or grandchild at least five minutes every day for 15straight weeks, starting Sunday Dec. 4, and ending March 17.

Let’s brag about how many of our residents read to their child every day for at least five minutes.

Win a chance for a prize from a random drawing every week. Parent/caregiver MUST be an Indian River County resident.

Parents/caregivers who read to the same child/grandchild every day for five minutes for an entire week (Sunday through Saturday) are eligible to be entered into a weekly random drawing for a gift.

Just email ([email protected]) or leave a message at (772) 494-8110 with your name and telephone number, and name of the book(s) read during the week by 5 p.m. Tuesday following the end of the week. By way of example, in the first week which ends Sat., Dec. 10, notify us by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13.

Parents/ caregivers who read to the same child/grandchild every day for five minutes every week for the entire fifteen weeks will be eligible to enter a separate random drawing for a special gift. At the end of the campaign, email ([email protected]) or leave a message at (772) 494-8110 with your name and telephone number, and name of the books read during each of the 15 weeks no later than 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 20.

Literacy Services of Indian River County, Inc. retains sole discretion to determine compliance with the rules.
