Robert W. “Shoupy” Shoup, 75, died Oct. 4, 2011, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
He was born in Butler, Pa., and moved to Sebastian 17 years ago from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
He served in the Army.
Before retirement, he was a sign painter.
He was a 31-year member of AA.
He was a director of recovery at the Source Ministries for the Homeless, and a member of New Hope Ministries Church in Winter Beach.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Karen Shoup of Sebastian; son, David Pedersen of Georgetown, Del.; stepdaughters Kelley Breijak of Sebastian and Tracy Bock of Vero Beach; sister, Peggy Lewein of Milwaukee, Wis.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Shoup.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 8 at New Hope Ministries Church in Winter Beach.
