Marcia Schubert, of Vero Beach, died on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, after a long battle with a cascading series of illnesses.
Born in Akron, Ohio, in a corporate family, she grew up in approximately 15 different cities, including Johannesburg, South Africa when she was a toddler.
She attended Adelphi University where she met her college sweetheart, Ken Schubert, whom she married soon after graduation.
Ken was an international businessman, and Marcia’s travels began anew, as they moved their growing family to 8 countries on four continents before settling in Florida in 1978.
Marcia was a lifetime a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include her husband, Ken; four daughters, Lisa Schubert, of New York City, Carol Kuntz, of Winter Park, Robin Sells, of New Paltz, N.Y., and Wendy Hammarstrom, of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m, Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at the St. Augustine Episcopal Church, Vero Beach.
An inurnment will be held at The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine, New York City at a later date.
