Firefighters’ Chili and Salsa Cookoff moves to Riverside Park

VERO BEACH — Sound the alarm – the 8th Annual Indian River County Firefighters’ Chili and Salsa Cookoff is going back to the beach. This year’s two-night event, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11 & 12 will be held at Riverside Park.

Things start to heat up from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 for a Party under the oaks to include:

Live music on the Florida Lottery Stage

Jr. Firefighters Combat Challenge

Kids’ Inflatable area

Food: BBQ, Caribbean, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Kettle Corn, Ice Cream

Beverages: Beer, Wine, Soda, Water

Then Feel-the-Fire Saturday, Nov. 12 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Firefighters’ Chili and Salsa Cookoff and enjoy:

Live music on the Florida Lottery Stage

Food: BBQ, Caribbean, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Kettle Corn, Ice Cream

Beverages: Beer, Wine, Soda, Water

Events: Chili Tasting, Salsa Tasting, Kids’ Inflatable area, Face Painting, Pony Rides, Home Depot Kids Project Area, Live Entertainment

This highly anticipated event will feature chili and salsa from local restaurants, businesses, service organizations, individuals, local government agencies, schools and fire stations. This will be a fun and exciting event for the whole family.

Tickets, available at the event only, are $0.50 per sample or Super Saver: 30 Tickets for $10.

More than 10,000 people are expected to attend this ever-growing family event which will benefit Childcare Resources and other local charities.
