Bradlee Van Brunt Postell, 82, Vero Beach

Bradlee Van Brunt Postell, 82, died July 26, 2011, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.

He was born in Savannah, Ga., and lived in Vero Beach for nine years, coming from Lexington, Ky.

He was formerly of Ponte Vedra.

He graduated from Deerfield Academy and received his chemical engineering degree from Princeton University and master’s degree from Harvard University.

He was an Air Force veteran, serving as a second lieutenant.

Before retiring, he was employed by Occidental Petroleum for most of his career.

He was an elder and trustee and finance chairman at First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach.

He was a member of the Sons of the Colonial Wars and a volunteer for Hospice in Vero Beach and Ponte Vedra and the Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Carol Postell, of Vero Beach; sons, James C. Postell, of Cincinnati, John C. Postell II, of Atlanta and Andrew M. Postell, of Moscow, Idaho; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John C. Postell Jr.

A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 3 at First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach.
