Vero Beach Theatre Guild opens in September with All My Sons

VERO BEACH – The Vero Beach Theatre Guild opens its 2011-2012 season with “All My Sons,” a drama about World War II, directed by George Carabin and produced by Carole Strauss. The movie starred Edward G. Robinson and Burt Lancaster.

Nine performances will be offered from September 15 through 25. The theater is dark Monday and Tuesday.

In “All My Sons,” Arthur Miller’s first award-winning masterpiece, a son disappears during World War II, his father is exonerated for shipping defective airplane parts which killed 21 American pilots, and a visit by the son’s fiancée leads to the disclosure of shocking secrets that threaten to tear apart two families. Set in 1946, the play was inspired by a true story.

Nov. 10 – 27: “The 40s’ Radio Hour,” a musical by Walton Jones directed by Deanna Fielden

Jan. 12 – 22: “Born Yesterday,” a comedy by Garson Kanin directed by Tony Della Rocca

March 15 – April 1: “Titanic,” a musical with story/book by Peter Stone; music/lyrics by Maury Yeston directed by Denise Lee

May 10 – 20: “Bell, Book & Candle,” a comedy by John Van Druten directed by Pat Kroger
