OK. I admit it. I bailed on our peninsula for a week or so. Not because of the heat, but I did hope it might be a little, well, less blazingly hot and humid.
Well, the humid part, maybe…but, more often than not, the temps were as high if not (for Corn Sakes) higher than in Sunny Florida. Plus, without the always dependable afternoon showers which do cool things off a teeny bit for a while.
So I’m just going to have to Cowgirl Up and deal with it, like the rest of the world.
While I’ve been whining about the heat, the amazing and uber-dedicated Habitat volunteers have been toiling away, under the very same sun, getting on with the mission of Habitat.
Which always bears repeating: to build simple, basic, safe homes WITH qualified families in need.
That with is always key: We offer a hand UP, not a handout, and our homebuyers have a lot of requirements to meet. Among these – they work right alongside the volunteers to build their home, and the homes of others.
Have a good one and – hydrate.
