VERO BEACH – Seasons at Orchid resident Richard Ferry, Valjean Corporation president recently joined noted author Professor Richard Stamelman at the Fragrance Foundation’s “Pop Your Cork” educational event in New York. Ferry, a voting member of the Fragrance Foundation, represented Valjean Corporation, a contract manufacturer of cosmetics, perfumes and personal care products.
The Fragrance Foundation Associate Board presented an evening event featuring organic wines, a four-course tasting menu and natural fragrances designed to educate members on organic and natural perfume ingredients. The event was presented and narrated by famous chefs, a wine importer and internationally renowned perfumer Olivia Jan, senior perfumer with Robertet Fragrances. Jan recently paired with actress Reese Witherspoon to develop a new Avon fragrance called In Bloom.
At the conclusion of the Fragrance Foundation event, Stamelman, professor emeritus of Williams College and executive director of the Montgomery endowment at Dartmouth College, received one of two samples of the featured fragrance for his library. Stamelman wrote “Perfume: Joy, Obsession, Scandal, Sin”, which tells the story of perfumery from the mid-18th century to present day. His study of the fragrance industry aligns with movements in art, literature, poetry, architecture and fashion.
