Gifford citizens’ complaints prompt traffic enforcement

GIFFORD – After receiving numerous complaints from Gifford residents regarding traffic issues, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office conducted stepped up patrol of the area, resulting in arrests, investigations and citations.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic enforcement detail covering the Gifford Community and North US 1 Corridor.

Patrol deputies teamed together on Wednesday, June 15, during afternoon and evening hours to focus on any criminal violation of county or state law.

The effort resulted in:

Citations – 8

Warnings – 32

Arrest – 2 felony, 1 misdemeanor

Crash Investigations – 1

Warrant Attempts – 4

Call’s for Service – 9

Close Patrols – 3

Sighting of a Brush Fire – 1
