Wallace George Gifford, 86, died June 3, 2011, at his home.
He was born in Willimantic, Conn., and lived in Sebastian for 40 years, coming from Sumberland, R.I.
He was a Navy veteran.
Before retiring, he was vice president of engineering for New London Mills in Connecticut.
Gifford and his wife were the original owners of Barefoot Bay Laundromat.
He also worked at the Sebastian Post Office, where he was a window clerk.
Survivors include his sister, Polly Harmon, of Barefoot Bay; brother, Charles Gifford, of Georgia; daughters, Pamela Joel, of Hallendale, Sue LeLievre, of Ooltewah, Tenn., Sally Riedesel, of Melbourne; sons, Thomas Gifford, of Palm Bay, and James Gifford and Charles Gifford, both of Sebastian; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria; and a great-granddaughter.
