Senior Resource Association to host a Tourism Expo

VERO BEACH —  The Senior Resource Association (SRA) is hosting a Tourism Expo on Thursday, May 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Schumann Hall Senior Center, 686 14th Street in Vero Beach.   

The Tourism Expo will feature: Sebastian Sky Diving, Roger Dean Stadium (spring home of the Red Cardinals), Cape Canaveral cruise ships, Smithsonian Museum, casino bus trips, performing arts series, overseas excursions, kayaking trips, and resort stays. You will discover amazing travel destinations, local attractions, resorts, and so much more.

Low beach attendance for January; no water rescues

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. Vacation, short-term rentals reopen under safety plan

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A detailed safety measure to reopen vacation and short term rentals in the county has been approved, allowing the plan to go into effect immediately, officials said. The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation approved the Indian River County Vacation Rental Re-opening Plan, officials said. The county submitted the plan to the department Thursday for review, Administrator Jason Brown said. The plan was designed to keep residents and visitors safe from the spread of coronavirus while also allowing property owners to rent in accordance with regulatory and health guidelines. Fertilizer restrictions to go into effect next month

A reminder from the Indian River Neighborhood Association to residents of Indian River County, City of Vero Beach, Sebastian and Orchid. We are coming into our rainy season when more nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorous are likely to be washed from our lawns, driveways and roads into the storm water system and, ultimately, into our local waterways such as the Indian River Lagoon. The fertilizer ordinances passed by our communities goes into effect June 1st. It prohibits the use of lawn fertilizer between June 1st and September 30th.
