Virginia Damerow, of Vero Beach, died April 21, 2011.
She was born Jan. 21, 1919, in Athens, Ga., to Rosalie Booth O’Farrell and Marion Craig O’Farrell.
She lived in Vero Beach since 1951, and was active in many social and civic affairs.
She was a member of Phi Beta Psi Sorority, Daughters of the American Revolution, The Hemlock Society, Indian River County Crisis Line, Vero Beach Country Club and The Riomar Club.
She was a member of Central Assembly of God and a charter member and deacon of First Presbyterian Church.
She was a supervisor for Welcome Wagon International and later went into real estate and became a broker.
She loved her work and the people she dealt with.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry C. Offutt, Jr., and in later years by her husband, Dr. Carl F. Damerow.
Survivors include daughters Virginia “Toddy” McKeown (Frank) and Jane Frost; sons Dr. John C. Offutt, Andrew W.Offutt, Harry Offutt (Nancy); grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice or a random act of kindness to someone in need.
Services are Wednesday, April 27 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by her funeral and interment at Crestlawn Cemetery.
