Energy Assistance available for residents age 60+

VERO BEACH– The Senior Resource Association currently has funds available, through the Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program (EHEAP), to assist financially eligible people, age 60 and older, who are experiencing an energy-related crisis.  A crisis may be a household without electricity, a past-due or shut-off notice for utility services.

Program applicants must present proof of the following for assistance:

At least one household member 60 years of age or older;

A disconnect or final shut-off notice from their energy provider;

Gross annual household income may not exceed $16,335 for one person, $22,065 for two people, or $5,730 for each additional person in the household; and,

Indian River County residency.

In addition, the applicant may not have received LIHEAP or EHEAP energy assistance during the same heating/cooling season, and must be a legal U.S. resident.  There is a limit to the assistance provided.
