VERO BEACH — More than 150 community volunteers and business leaders will gather on Tuesday, March 22 to learn if the United Way of Indian River County has met its annual fundraising goal of $2.4 million. The event takes place at 5:15 at the Piper Aircraft Employee Cafeteria.
“This year more than ever it really is down to the wire,” said Campaign Co-Chair Michael Kmetz at a recent meeting of the United Way’s board of directors. “I’m hopeful, but it really will come down to the residents of this community.”
In addition to announcing the campaign results, the organization will honor several companies and individuals who have been essential to the success of this year’s campaign. Tom Manwaring, United Way board chair, will present the 2011 Ralph King award.
