Clemson University students serve the needy on spring break

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Thirty-one Clemson University students will be serving the needy in our community the week of March 19-26. In a partnership with Every Dream Has a Price, the Gifford Youth Activity Center and Habitat for Humanity, students will be painting, landscaping and doing light construction in Indian River County.

Jason Johnston is the Campus Director for the Clemson University Navigators, an on-campus, non-denominational Christian organization.

“We hope the trip will open the eyes of the students to the value in serving others. Serving not only meets community needs but also gives the group a chance to grow closer as a community also,” said Johnston.

Kings Baptist Church is providing the team with food and lodging and Coastal Community Church helped the team connect with local organizations that help the needy.

If you would like to help the team by lending a rake, shovel or weed-eater, contact Coastal Community Church at 772-202-0121.
