Evalena Grace Michaels, 77, died Jan. 13, 2011, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
She was born in West Conesville, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for 20 years coming from Schodack, N.Y.
She retired after 35 years with Farm Family Insurance Co. in Glenmont, N.Y.
She was a member of the Winding Brook Golf Club in Valatie, N.Y. and Vista Plantation in Vero Beach.
She belonged to three quilting clubs, the Sunbonnet Sue Club of Vero Beach, and two informal clubs in upstate New York.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Charles S. Michaels; daughter, Margaret Dorenz Oliver, of Delmar, N.Y.; brothers, Leonard Cleveland, of Santaquin, Utah, Eugene Cleveland, of Oak Hill, N.Y., Richard Cleveland, of Sun City, Calif., and Dennis Cleveland, of Preston Hollow, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Irving “Poncho” Dorenz; and brother, LeRoy Cleveland.
A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m., Feb. 24 at the Vista Plantation Club House in Vero Beach.
