John V. Little, 86, Vero Beach

John V. Little, 86, died Jan. 31, 2011, at the VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.

He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and lived in Vero Beach since 1973, coming from Stamford, Conn.

He was a 1953 graduate of the University of Florida.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy where he served on PT boats and the minesweeper YMS159.

He was employed by Florida Power & Light Co., the City of New Smyrna Beach, Citizens Utilities in Stamford, Conn., and also was a founding member of the Florida Municipal Power Agency.

He was the city manager for the City of Vero Beach from 1973 until 1991, and served as the director of the Vero Beach Electrical Utilities before retiring.

After retiring he served as a consultant and then administrator for the City of Fellsmere.

He was a member of the Church of God in Vero Beach.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Little, of Vero Beach; sons, Stephen Little, of Ithaca, N.Y., and Jeffrey Little, of Vero Beach; daughter, Patricia Little, of Vero Beach; stepsons, John Beaucher, of Rowley, Mass., and Richard Beaucher, of Sebastian; and stepdaughters, Denise Beaucher and Andrea Fifield, both of Pittsfield, N.H.

Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

A celebration of life will be at the First Church of God at a later date.

Arrangements are by Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
