Johnny B. Johnson, 63, Vero Beach

Johnny B. Johnson, 63, died Jan. 13, 2011.

He was born in Vero Beach and lived in Newark.

He was a maintenance worker for the city of Newark.

Survivors include his wife, Cora Ellis Johnson, of Newark; sons, Johnny Johnson Jr., of Newark and Dana A. Johnson, of Fort Lauderdale; stepsons, Anthony Ellis and Johnny Ellis; stepdaughters, Nicole Ellis and Carolyn Ellis; mother, Annie Laura Taylor, of Fort Lauderdale; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Rue.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 21 at Stone Brothers Funeral Chapel in Gifford.

A service will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 22 at the funeral home chapel.

Burial will follow in Wabasso Cemetery in Wabasso.

GIFFORD — The spirit of solidarity flourished at the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade along 45th Street, where residents gathered to see creative floats, marching band performances and banners showing King's image along with some of his famous quotes.
