VERO BEACH — Paper everywhere – What to do with all this stuff! The public is invited to the general meeting of the Indian River Genealogical Society on Tuesday, February 8 at 9:30 am to hear C. Ann Staley, professional genealogist, present tips on organizing genealogy research and work spaces. “We go on a research trips and gather all sorts of information,” says Staley, who has a wealth of experience leading groups to Salt Lake City. “We come home to other responsibilities and our research gets stacked in piles waiting the moment when we can do something with it.”
The discussion will include:
٠ Organizing your research and your office
٠ Record keeping tips for paper, forms and the computer
٠ Filing systems for research aids, compiled sheets, notes and documents
٠ Numbering systems
٠ Publishing your research in creative ways
Following a short business session and refreshments, the program will begin about 10:45 am. All general meetings of the IRGS are free and open to the public. Meetings are held on second Tuesdays, September through May, in the first floor conference room of the Indian River County Main Library, 1600 21st Street, Vero Beach.
