VEGAS: WSOP Circuit Coming to Palm Beach

It is an exciting time for poker in South Florida.  The state’s first televised WPT Event will take place April 27-May 2.  The full schedule of events is yet to be posted.  Also, the first-ever World Series of Poker Circuit Event in Florida will take place February 17 to March 1 at Palm Beach Kennel Club.   Players will compete for five and six-figure prize pools in No-Limit Hold ‘Em, H.O.R.S.E., and Omaha 8 or Better (hi/lo).  There will be 10 different ring events, where the winners of those event receive WSOP Championship rings with their prize money.  The winner of each event ring event will also win their way into the WSOP Circuit National Championship at Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas on May 27 (it is a three-day event).

Vero News is looking for players from Indian River County who will be playing in these tournaments, as we will be tracking the progress of as many local players as possible.

About the WSOP Circuit National Championship:

The WSOP Circuit Event schedule in 2010-2011 is a national tour with a Cumulative Player Point System that awards points for cashing in official gold ring events.

The Top 100 qualifiers from the WSOP Circuit season will be win seats in the WSOP Circuit National Championship at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from May 27-29, 2011.  It will be televised nationally on the Versus network.

The winner of the WSOP Circuit National Championship will get a WSOP Gold Bracelet, the first-time ever an official WSOP bracelet has been awarded outside the annual WSOP in Las Vegas, or the annual WSOP Europe in London.

The 100-player compete for a prize pool of $1 million, with the final 10 players receiving prize money.  There are four ways to qualify:

1. Win the $1,500 Main Event at any WSOP Circuit event. (1 per stop; 15 players total) 2. Be the”CasinoChampion” by accumulating the most points at any of the individual WSOP Circuit stop’s 10 official open “ring” events. (1 per stop; 15 players total)

3. Make the final table (9players) at any of the four $10K buy in”Regional Championships” at Horseshoe Hammond, Harrah’s Atlantic City, Harrah’s Rincon, and Harrah’s New Orleans (36 players total)

4. Accumulate enough points between all the WSOP Circuit stops to be positioned in theTop 34 cumulative point standings at the end of the 2010-11 WSOP Circuit tour.
