Randy James Zarallo, 54, Vero Beach

Randy James Zarallo, 54, of Vero Beach, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

Zarallo was born June 24, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pa., and moved to Florida 27 years ago.

He was a resident of Vero Beach for 12 years.

He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church of Vero Beach and also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife Janet McIntyre Zarallo, of Vero Beach; his father Vincent Zarallo; step-mother Fran Kuby, of Port Saint Lucie; and his step-son James McIntyre

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach, Florida.

Fellsmere is among several Florida towns that will receive an infrastructure award that will go toward restoration and improvement projects following the damage left behind by the 2017 Hurricane Irma, state officials said Friday. Gov. issues state of emergency; beaches to close ahead of Isaias

Friday evening update: A hurricane warning and a storm surge watch were issued for Indian River County Friday afternoon. County officials will order voluntary evacuations for residents Saturday in mobile homes, low lying areas and on the barrier island. County officials will open three shelters at 2 p.m. Saturday.
