Carolyn B. Wood, 79, died Jan. 6, 2011, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Fort Pierce.
She was born in Morristown, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach since 2004, coming from Short Hills, N.J.
She graduated with a bachelor of arts in sociology in 1952 from Wells College in Aurora, N.Y.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and Grand Harbor Golf and Beach Club, both in Vero Beach, and Basking Ridge Country Club and Short Hills Club in New Jersey.
She was a long-standing and active trustee of Wells College and received the 1999 Wells College Distinguished Alumnae Award.
She also served as a trustee of the Pingry School in Martinsville, N.J., and as a former president of New Eyes For the Needy in Millburn, N.J.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Henry F. Wood Jr.; sons, Henry F. “Terry” Wood, III, of Old Saybrook, Conn., and Jay F. Wood, of Richmond, Va.; brothers, E. Freeman Bunn, of Vero Beach and H. Franklin Bunn, of Auburndale, Mass.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Jan. 11 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Vero Beach.
A subsequent service of remembrance will be in Short Hills, N.J., in early summer.
