Jean Mieloch, 88, of Vero Beach, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, of natural causes, at her home amongst loved ones.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Saint Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
Mieloch was born Dec. 24, 1922, in Long Island, N.Y., grew up in Red Bank, N.J., and lived there until moving to Ft. Lauderdale in 1946.
She spent 38 years in the Broward County Tax Collector’s Office and retired in 1993, at the age of 70, from her post as Broward’s Chief Tax Collector.
She moved to Vero Beach in 2000 to be closer to family.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Mohler; son, Stanley Mieloch; three grandchildren, Matthew (Rachel) Mohler, Paige (Jason) Silva, Meredith Mohler; and a great-grandchild, Riley Jean Mohler.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Nicholas and Ralph Cimato, and husband, Frank Mieloch.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to Saint Edward’s School, 1895 Saint Edwards Drive, Vero Beach, FL 32963 or the American Heart Association, 9900 Ninth Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33716.
