Howard C. Brand, 86, died Jan. 3, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center.
He was born in Winona, Minn., and lived in Vero Beach for 28 years, coming from Waukesha, Wis.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Before retirement, he was a metallurgist in the Stainless Steel and Bronze Foundry for 34 years.
He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Vero Beach, Vero Beach Veterans, and Moose Lodge 1822 of Vero Beach.
He also helped form the Grady Bunch of Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Joyce Brand, of Vero Beach; sons, Michael Brand, of Waukesha and Dennis Brand, of Appleton; sister, Avis Hoefs, of Waukesha; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Everett Brand.

Services will be private.
