Keith R. Maxey, 78, of Vero Beach, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at Sebastian River Medical Center.
He was born July 2, 1932, in Murphy, N.C., along with ten siblings to Thomas and Vessie (Sneed) Maxey. Keith lived most of his life in Hamilton, Ohio before coming to Vero Beach in 2004.
He retired from Champion Papers in 1993 after 37 years.
He was a member of the Monkey Mutual Aid Society and also served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Pat, of Vero Beach; sons Tom Maxey (Donna), of Corona, Calif., and Greg Maxey (Susan), of Marble, N.C.; daughter Kerry Lake (David), of Vero Beach; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased in death by his daughter Valerie Lake of Hamilton, Ohio; his parents and eight siblings.
No services are planned at this time.
