“Bring a Bag to the Beach” at Mardy’s Tennis & Jake’s Music Fest

VERO BEACH — Tennis stars Mardy Fish, Ivan Lendl and the Bryan brothers, plus country artists Jake Owen and Little Big Town will be appearing in Vero Beach this weekend on Friday, December 10 and Saturday, December 11for the fifth annual Mardy’s Tennis & Jake’s Music Fest to Benefit the Mardy Fish Foundation and Jake Owen Foundation.

This year, the fans of hometown favorites Mardy and Jake are asked to “Bring a Bag to the Beach” at the Friday evening concert or Saturday tennis exhibition and give to children of Indian River County.  Both events will be accepting donations at the front entrance for the Mardy Fish After School Programs and Clubs.  Items accepted: school supplies, unopened holiday gifts, nonperishable food, and used tennis rackets.

Mardy’s Tennis & Jake’s Music Fest kicks off on December 10 with a Kids’ Tennis Clinic from 4 to 5p.m. at Grand Harbor Golf Club.  The Kids’ Tennis Clinic is followed by a Concert by Jake Owen and Special Guest Little Big Town beginning at 7 p.m. at Holman Stadium.

On Saturday, December 11 at Grand Harbor Golf Club a Caribbean-themed Luncheon with live and silent auction, a fashion soiree and Master of Ceremonies Sportscaster Brett Haber will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. followed by a Tennis Exhibition at 2:30 p.m. featuring Mardy Fish vs. Ivan Lendl followed by a doubles match pairing Fish with Lendl against the world No. 1 doubles team, Bob and Mike Bryan, “the Bryan Brothers.”

Mardy’s Tennis & Jake’s Music Fest benefits the Mardy Fish Foundation, which Fish created in 2006 to support youth organizations in Indian River County, including the Mardy Fish After School Programs and Clubs, The Youth Guidance Foundation and Boys & Girls Club of Vero Beach.   The newly created Jake Owen Foundation was founded to continue to support the Mardy Fish Foundation and its mission to help the youth in Indian River County and to expand support nationally to assist children battling cancer and other childhood diseases through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Tickets for the Tennis Exhibition are $75 for Box Seats and $35 for general admission tickets. Tickets for the Concert are $75 for Premier seats (on field), $50 for Pit Area, $25 for Reserved seats and $15 for General Admission Seats.
