Chester Young, 89, Sebastian

Chester Young, 89, died Nov. 28, 2010, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.

He was born in Norman, Okla., and lived in Sebastian for three years, coming from Bedford, Ind., and was a winter resident since 1978.

He was an architectural draftsman in limestone for Harding and Cogswell Limestone Co. in Bedford.

He served in the Marine Corps during World War II, fighting in the Pacific Theater.

He retired as a captain. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Wabasso and First Baptist Church of Mitchell, Ind.

He was a member of American Legion Post 189, Sebastian, and former member of the Elks Lodge, Indiana.

Survivors include his sons, J.B. Young, of Stuart and David Young, of Sebastian; daughter, Lynne Madawick, of Bloomington, Ind.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Dec. 5 at First Baptist Church of Wabasso with the Rev. F. Allen Yarbrough of First Baptist Church of Wabasso officiating.
