A Christmas Wish from The Source

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Each year on Christmas Day, The Source gives away gift bags to the homeless. Gift bags contain warm clothing, hygiene products, flashlights, batteries and a small New Testament Bible. They are given individually and contain the sizes each person needs. Sadly, this may be the only gift some of our clients will receive this Christmas.

Your partnership has never been more needed or appreciated. Please help us to continue being a blessing.

We are coming into our rainy season when more nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorous are likely to be washed from our lawns, driveways and roads into the storm water system and, ultimately, into our local waterways such as the Indian River Lagoon. Santa visits students at GYAC

GIFFORD — In the days leading up to Christmas, the jolly Saint Nicholas cleared up his busy schedule of gift giving to make sure students at a youth center received presents on their wish list. Saint Nicholas, better known as Santa Claus, visited youth last Thursday afternoon at Gifford Youth Achievement Center. The man in the traditional red and white outfit with a white beard was GYAC staff member Lebon Nicholas, happily providing each student with a gift. The students sung Christmas carols inside the gymnasium and the youth orchestra performed classic holiday tunes. INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — For families in need, Santa giving presents to children on Christmas Eve means everything. "It's incredible. I have a little one who believes in Santa," said Vero Beach resident Candice Nichole. "I didn't want to tell him Santa wasn't coming." Nichole and her son are one of 24 families in need that received gifts from Santa on Sunday. Those families have about 60 children total, ranging from toddlers to teenagers.
