Pontoon Boats on the Lagoon

WABASSO ISLAND — The Environmental Learning Center (ELC) is offering a number of Pelican Island excursions aboard their brand new pontoon boat.  Each lasts two hours and each is led by an ELC naturalist who will identify a variety of birds now returning here for the winter months.

Sunset excursions (3:30 to 5:30 pm) will be on November 11, 16, 23 and 30; morning trips (9:00 to 11:00 am) will take place on November 24 and 26.  Prices range from $22 to $26 for adults and from $10 to $14 for children; ELC members get a $2 discount.

Reservations are necessary, and these adventures frequently sell out.  Call the ELC at 772-589-5050.

A reminder from the Indian River Neighborhood Association to residents of Indian River County, City of Vero Beach, Sebastian and Orchid. We are coming into our rainy season when more nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorous are likely to be washed from our lawns, driveways and roads into the storm water system and, ultimately, into our local waterways such as the Indian River Lagoon.
