Gregory David Thaens, 57, of Vero Beach, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Ft. Pierce.
Thaens was born Nov. 29, 1952, in Garden City, Mich., and moved to Vero Beach seven years ago, coming from South Lyon, Mich. He was the CEO of United Insurance Group in South Lyon, Mich.
Survivors include his wife, Dorene; daughters, Alicia Meldrum and Rachel Bassakos; son, Eric Thaens; mother, Laura Thaens; sister, Lori Patterson; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends, Friday, Sept. 24, from 4 – 8 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
Memorial Talk will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2126 8th Street, Vero Beach.
