VERO BEACH — Rather than honoring just one Indian River County Woman of the Year, members of GFWC Treasure Coast Women have opted this year to recognize a whole host of exceptional volunteers (men and women) from various local non-profit organizations. TC Women and The Lakes of Pointe West are sponsoring a Volunteer Recognition Reception from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 7 in the dining room at The Lakes.
Eighteen local non-profit agencies have each submitted the name of their outstanding volunteers and the presentations will be made by the grand lady of Indian River County, Alma Lee Loy.
Each volunteer will be treated to the event and will receive a gift and a certificate of appreciation.
A limited number of seats will be open to the public. Cost is $10 per person and includes an appetizer buffet; discounted beer and wine will be available for $2.
