Joseph Albert “Joe” Farruggio, 22, died Sept. 8, 2010 in Vero Beach.
He was born in Smithtown, N.Y. and lived in Sebastian for 15 years coming from Scottsdale, Ariz. He is a graduate of Sebastian River High School having received his diploma in 2006.
He worked in the Heath Care Industry as an Instrument Sterile Prep. Associate and had been employed with Indian River Medical Center since 2007.
He was a member of Saint Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian.
Survivors include his parents, Donna and Robert Farruggio, of Sebastian; brothers, Rob Farruggio, Jr. and Ken McDonough; sisters, Joan Farruggio and Ashley Farruggio, all of Vero Beach; paternal grandmother, Helen Farruggio, of Sebastian; maternal grandmother, Josephine Italiano, of Huntington, N.Y., maternal grandfather, Jack Italiano, of Vero Beach; nephews, Ryan, Robbie, Anthony, Ashton; niece, Shannon; girlfriend, Lindsey, of Fort Pierce.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Albert “Al” Farruggio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Sebastian Catholic Church, 13075 U.S. Highway 1, Sebastian, FL 32958 in memory of Joseph Albert Farruggio.
Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m. on Sept. 13 at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian followed by a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 14 at Saint Sebastian Catholic Church with Father John Morrissey, celebrant.
Burial will be at Sebastian Cemetery, Sebastian.
