VERO BEACH – The Community Church of Vero Beach is hosting “A Year of Celebration” featuring concerts from October 3 through May 15. Tickets are $20 adults, $12 students. Sunday, October 3 at 4:00 pm: A Concert For the World. Ryan A. Kasten, Associate Director of Music/Organist of Community Church will play music from across the world. Proceeds from this concert will benefit the International Missions of Community Church.
Sunday, November 21 at 7:30 pm: Pipes and Brass Band. The elite Salvation Army New York Staff Band will rock the house with an exhilarating and diverse program featuring Dr. José Daniel Flores, organist.
Friday, January 14 at 7:30 pm: Meet the New Organ in Town. Community Church is pleased to welcome Dr. James David Christie, Chair of the Organ Department of Oberlin Conservatory in a recital in memory of former Associate Organist of Community Church – Songsun Lee.
Friday, February 25 at 7:30 pm: Notre Dame comes to Vero Beach. This program will include the wonderful Symphony No. 3 in F sharp minor for organ and the Messe Solennelle in C sharp minor by Louis Vierne (former organist of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France) featuring the Atlantic Schola Cantorum Choir directed by Dr. José Daniel Flores and Ryan A. Kasten, organist.
Friday, March 25 at 7:30 pm: The Dueling Brothers Return in “Fugues and Fireworks.” A light hearted competition of which instrument is superior featuring Dr. Marcos Flores, piano with and against Dr. José Daniel Flores, organ.
Friday, April 15 at 7:30 pm: Lenten Concert. The Community Church Chancel Choir, Atlantic Children’s Chorale and Atlantic Schola Cantorum come together to perform Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem with renowned, international organist Todd Wilson, head of the Organ Department at The Cleveland Institute of Music.
Sunday, May 15 at 4:00 pm: Rising and Falling Stars. Members of the Treasure Coast Chapter of the American Guild of Organist will come together to perform an assorted mix of organ repertoire.
