INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Whether you are looking for the perfect pet, or already have one, join the fun at The Indian River Club for In The Ruff, a golf tournament and animal-awareness day benefiting H.A.L.O. Rescue, the only no-kill animal shelter in Indian River County, and Stray No More, Inc., a low cost spay / neuter organization.
On Saturday, August 28, from 10 a.m.. to 2 p.m., H.A.L.O. Rescue will feature a variety of adoptable pets in need of permanent homes. Whether you’re looking for Spuds MacKenzie or Garfield, you’ll probably find that special dog or cat at this event.
In addition to the pet adoptions, Dr. Sara Mathews will be offering a low cost vaccination clinic on-site. Individual vaccines for cats and dogs will be available for $15 each, or “The Works,” a package including Da2PP, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, and a Heartworm test, all for only $60. Stray No More, Inc. volunteers will also be on hand to discuss the low cost spay and neuter programs available in the area.
Bring your pets out for the day and have your photo taken by Bob Hemstreet Photography. For a contribution of $20, you’ll receive two memorable keepsake photos of your pet to share with family and friends.
Golfers wanting to play the fantastic Audubon Signature Sanctuary course while supporting two incredible charities should sign up for the first In The Ruff Golf Tournament. The four man scramble kicks off at 9 a.m. and concludes with an all-you-can-eat barbeque and silent auction. Registration is $100 per player. Sponsors, players, auction item donors and volunteers are encouraged to participate.
The best part of the day is that all profits will directly assist animals and residents of Indian River County. Donations are tax deductible.
